Unique stories.
Shared experiences.

After receiving bariatric surgery in June of 2021, CeCe Chancellor craved other womens’ stories. She had so many questions for other patients: what brought them to this big change? And how were they navigating their new bodies?

As a podcast enthusiast, the path forward became clear. CeCe founded the Baridiaries as a platform for bariatric stories, so that patients could connect through conversation. From the podcast, to retreats to live events, BariDaries has blossomed into a leading hub for the WLS community.

I know it, because
I’ve lived it.

Hey there! My name is CeCe Chancellor. Like a lot of you, I have memories of growing up and not feeling comfortable in my own skin. As a first generation Mexican-American, I was working from a young age to support my family. Childhood trauma, poverty, and my struggles with obesity also made my path really tough. But as a determined optimist, I pushed myself to get an education. I was the first in my family to get my GED, as well as my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.

I’ve always had a call to serve, and an interest in the human service field. As a licensed chemical dependency counselor (LCDC), I learned a lot about addiction and how to talk to people. And as an active PTA mom, I got to explore my love for organizing and throwing events! I’ve had such a special career and family life, and truly no regrets, but my health was always a struggle...

My whole life I suffered through diet after diet with no results, and my hypothyroidism wasn’t helping any. After a battle with breast cancer, I found losing weight was close to impossible--so I decided to make the decision that changed my life. On June 10, 2021, I had VSG (vertical sleeve gastrectomy) surgery. It was like a reboot to my whole system! Since then I’ve been able to live out the healthy, balanced lifestyle I always knew was right for me. My own journey has inspired me to start the BariDaries, so I could build a community with amazing women looking to share their bariatric stories.
